New faculty hires this academic year include tenure track faculty member Claudia Martins in Construction Management, and two teaching faculty in Mechanical Engineering Technology: Dr. Christopher Green and Ms. Michelle Demers. New staff hires include academic advisors, Carol Marshall and Rachel Powell, and business services specialist, Ms. Nancy McAnuff.
Professor & Department Chair, Dr. Tony Brizendine recently completed a five-year term as commissioner of the Applied & Natural Science Accreditation Commission bringing his total years on ABET Commissions to 16 years with 6 years on the executive committee. This fall, he continues service to ABET, performing readiness reviews for both US and international programs preparing for initial ABET accreditation.
Associate Professor Tara Cavalline is lead author of a new book titled “Construction Quality Assurance in the Alternate Project Delivery Environment,” published by ASCE.
Associate Professor Glenda Mayo is a contributing author in The Project Delivery Practice Guide, 3rd Edition (PDPG). This book is used as the primary resource document for the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) certification administered by the Construction Specifications Institute. Dr. Mayo is also the second author for a new title published by Wiley: “Developing BIM Talent: A Guide to the BIM Body of Knowledge with Metrics, KSAs, and Learning Outcomes”, 1st Edition.
Associate Professor Maciej Noras was elected as chair of the Electrostatic Processes Technical Committee of the Manufacturing Systems Development and Applications Department the IEEE Industry Applications Society for 2022 – 2024 term.
Assistant Professor Stephanie Pilkington was recently elected vice-chair for NSF’s Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure’s (NHERI) User Forum committee
